THE SHARING ECONOMY

The sharing economy, also known as collaborative consumption or peer-to-peer-based sharing, is a concept that highlights the ability -- and perhaps the preference -- of individuals to rent or borrow goods rather than buy and own them.

Sharing Day

greatestshare.jpeg Cat Johnson|November 7, 2012 On November 14, a celebration of sharing, dubbed Global Sharing Day is taking place around the world. Created by the U.K.-based organization The People Who Share, the day is an international event to encourage and spotlight D.I.Y. sharing projects, including clothing swaps, shared meals and book exchanges, as well as larger, more formally-organized events such as big-picture planning sessions on the future of the sharing movement, financing the sharing economy and connecting sharing communities.
